First of all Happy 4th of July from all of us at The Hens Den!!

We are so excited to have so many fans, so many great submissions for the design team. You all are so talented, the competition was tough!!

Not in any particular order...

Please welcome.... Anita Mulcahey to the team!!

Here's a little about Anita:
My name is Anita and I live in Medway, Massachusetts with the love of my life.  We have been married over 27 years and have a son who is his third year of a five year program at Northeastern University in Boston and a daughter who will be going to Georgia Tech in the fall.  I work from home part-time as a social worker which leaves me a lot of time for my hobby of paper crafting.  I have been scrapbooking since my son was two and he is twenty.  It is hard to imagine where the time has gone.  I have had several publications recently including in Cricut Magazine and Scrapbook News and Review.  I look forward to working with the wonderful ladies at The Hen’s Den.

Please welcome... Moriah Macdonald to the team!

Hi my name is Moriah Macdonald!  I've had the pleasure of living in NY, SD, and SC, I currently reside outside Boston in MA's apple orchard country with my fabulous and artistic husband, our recovering corgi, and our very sweet tabby rescue.  By day I'm a part-time Reading Specialist who has the pleasure of lighting the spark of reading with Kindergarten and first graders struggling with learning how to read.  At night I like to relax with paper, scissors, adhesive, and ink!  Creating paper art is a form of meditation for me.  A good friend got me into stamping about 12 years ago with the idea that we would make our Christmas cards.  About a gazillion cards (Christmas and other) later, paper crafting at home “for fun” has turned into teaching paper crafting classes, starting a wonderful pay-it-forward tradition of card making at my church, and addicting tons of other friends to stamping.  Cards are what I most often create, but lately I have gotten into more home decor creations.  I'm very excited to finally get around to scrapping my childhood photos.  You have to start somewhere right? :)  I've made so many new friends all because of this wonderful art form and am uber excited to be a new member of The Hen's Den Design Team!

Please leave Anita and Moriah some blog comment love welcoming them to the team! We can't wait to see all their creativity here! We are all super excited!

7 Gypsies tray by Carolyn Lontin Featuring: Graphic 45 Kraft Reflections Collection

Designed by Carolyn Lontin
Featuring: Graphic 45 Kraft Reflections Collection

These popular printer trays are so fun to create!  I wanted to keep this one simple so I first chose which patterns or words I wanted to cut out from the patterned papers.  I cut out the desired patterns then distressed the edges using Prima's Rasp Tool and Tim Holtz Distress Ink.

Next I decided which flowers I wanted to put on the tray - the Magnolia Berries & Cream flowers and the Canterbury Vine Spray were my favorite for this project.

Next up were the fun metal embellishments such as Prima's Vintage Trinkets and 7 Gypsies Clear Crystal Knob.

I used the Foam 3D Squares on both the flowers, the vintage trinkets and the cut out patterns where I wanted to add dimension to the tray.

Add any little trinkets or glitter glue to personalize your tray.
