The New You Layout

Here's a picture of the yummy goodies I worked with in July.

Happy Tuesday friends! Today I am sharing a layout of my daughter's new hair cut. Kayla recently got a job at Aeropostale and had to dye her hair back to a natural hair color for the job. She had blue hair at the time. Kayla went with a color closest to her natural hair which is dark brown. Her hair is very difficult when it comes to bleaching and or coloring. Parts of her hair actually looked greenish. Playing around with her hair has left it really damaged. So I talked her into getting it cut and leaving it alone for a good long time. Kayla has the shape of face that she is able to pull off a short or long do. I like the cut on her and her blue eyes pop with the dark brown color. Her hair is much healthier now as well.

A few of the techniques used on this layout are stamping, distressing, tearing and layers. I also applied tissue paper with modge podge. I love the crinkled look. I cut apart the border of flowers into individuals and attached them under the brown crocheted ribbon. I also cut apart the butterfly border stickers apart and attached them throughout the layout.

Here I tore the side of the paper and added some flowers for a pretty cluster.

This is the amazing kit I worked with this month.

My daughter Kayla went to her very first concert recently and saw Justin Bieber. Thankfully a friends mother went along with them as a chaperone. I am not a huge fan of Justin or his type of music but figured it would be a good first concert for her. We purchased the tickets for her back in November and it was part of her Christmas present. We were lucky enough to get some pretty good seats. Kayla had a blast. It's all she talked about for days. The next concert she is going to see Big Time Rush with my Sis, nieces and Jolie (her lil sis). This will be Jolie's first. Kayla bought a T-shirt and hat from the Bieber concert. I think in this picture she could actually pass for a little boy. She's still a cutie.

A few techniques used on this layout are layering, ink distressing, tearing and stencil using modeling paste. To create some of the layers I cut Kaisercraft pound paper and layered the journal cards behind the photo.

Become layout using the March Chic sketch

I am so excited to be sharing a new take in the March chic sketch. I did the left page of the sketch last time, and so this time I tried a layout using the right side of the sketch.

So as you can tell, I did not add any pictures to my layout. That is A-OK in my book. Here are you my top reasons why I love to have a bunch of premade layouts.

1. I like to have pre-made layouts on hand for when I get my pictures printed, I can quickly add a photo and be done with a page.

2. I like to give pre-made pages in an album as gifts. (Especially for my friends and family who don't scrapbook, they can easily add their own photos and have an amazing, personalized album.

3. Sometimes I see a sketch or have an idea that I'm afraid I will lose or forget, so by making a blank layout, you have it when you are ready to use it down the road.

4. I love my pretty paper, but if I hold on to it and don't use it, chances are I will just hoard it. By making a blank layout, I will already have a beautiful piece just waiting for the right pictures.

5. I take pictures to match the layouts I already have done. It makes choosing the right color clothing and accessories so easy!

6. I love to make page packets using sketches, so when I go to an expo or just sit down to scrapbook I can pull out all the co-ordinating papers, sketch and embellishments and throw them together. Easy. Fast.
