My Minds Eye- You Are the Best

My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable
Card Designed by Moriah Macdonald

Lori designed a fab new Chic Sketch for us to play with this month.  You can play along and join the fun (and have a chance to join us as a guest designer!).

I made a card using the right half of the double page spread. :)  Instead of a larger photo, I used one of the cards on the Journal Paper.  The tricky part was what to do in place of the smaller photos.  The chipboard banners were perfect!  The ribbon and another banner, a few chipboard flowers 'n buttons- Voila!

As I was getting ready to take pictures, I realized that I forgot to take a picture of my supplies before I dove in!!  A kitchen island with a paper explosion and 6 cards later (yup, you've got at least 5 more treats to look forward to this month!), I realized how right Lori was about how fun this line is to work with. :)

Better grab some of these goods for yourself!  The "Unforgettable" goodies used from The Hen's Den to make this card:

My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable - Buttons
My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable - Chipboard Shapes
My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable Story- 6X6 Pad
My Minds Eye- Collectable- Unforgettable - Journal Paper
May Arts- Brown Crochet Ribbon

Teresa Collins Memories colection - Easter layout - Lori McClellan

Teresa Collins - Memories collection
Egg-stra-ordinary Easter Layout
by Lori McClellan

IT'S HERE!!!!
2013 Chic Sketch #2 by (me) Lori McClellan

So, without further ado......Here is my take on the sketch, one step at a time.
(2) 12 x 12 pages, with a shared, square houndstooth, accent layer.

A big strip across the top where I am going to put the pictures.  (Polka dots make me happy!!)

Another strip below it using the cute flower paper.

Woops, I lost a few of the inbetween pics, but I added a second strip of gray with tiny white dots, white lace and then the pictures of my cute kids in their Egg shaped glasses.

I designed the title and cut it out of vinyl.  I added more embellishments and some journaling.  Simple, yet the simplicity allows the photos to be the focal point of the layout.

So are you ready to whip out your supplies and make a layout?  When you do, be sure to share it on The Hens' Den facebook page.  We will be picking 2 of you to be guest designers and your work could be shown here on the blog!!!  I'm not even kidding when I say I am SO EXCITED to see what your take on the sketch will be.
