We hope you enjoy your journey today through each of our blogs. We want to share with you some techniques that each of us use and hopefully you will learn something new from us. My project is Grunge board/paper. I love working with Grunge Paper and I find it very intriguing to work with. I play with scraps a lot. I just do not want to get into a project and waste good paper on mistakes, so scraps are easy to play with and I usually have plenty around for messing with. I am messing around in these pictures so, you are going to see the results just as they ended up.
I apologize for the glare in this picture. I used Distress ink on the top piece and I painted the bottom piece. I wanted to see what it would look like both ways. Grunge paper/board is easy to cover and take color of all kinds. Do not be afraid to play and experiment.
This piece I pained with Gesso because I wanted to play around with stains on the gesso and see what I came up with.
In this sample, I used several Distress Stains and dried the using a heat tool. the color turned out really cool and I loved the texture that I ended up with as well. I will use this for a project down the road away.
On this sample I used embossing powders to create a different look. As I heated the grunge paper, it curled up but later flattened out, this is normal so do not panic if you have never played with it before
The top piece is the one that I inked using Distress ink and then I sprayed some gold glitter ink spray and it turned out really cool. I think I might pair it up with the piece shown.
Here are the two pieces that I made while playing with embossing powders. I can add letters or a saying to the center of the sign and be very happy with the way it turned out.
The entire purpose of this project is to give you encouragement to play with something new and not be afraid to mess around and see what you come up with.
