My Minds Eye The Sweetest Thing Collection- This Is Love Layout - Nicolle Kramer

My Mind's Eye- The Sweetest Thing - Bluebell Collection
This Is Love Layout
Designed by : Nicolle Kramer

I absolutely loved creating with this fabulous kit this month.

Hi Scrappy Friends! Nicolle here with a layout. This year I am making it a point to get the hubby in more photos. He hates the way he looks in photo's when he smiles. Mike said to me he would rather make funny faces. I was thinking fine with me as long as there is some pictures of you for generations to come. If you are my friend on facebook you can now see where my daughter Kayla gets the funny face making from. They are a bunch of goof balls.

I was inspired by a sketch as I am for most of my layouts.  For the background I used a template and some new Tim Holtz Distress Paint in the color Broken China. I just love the mixed media style. I did a lot of fussy cutting, layering in this layout. I just hope you aren't growing bored of seeing my layouts. I tend to use these techniques a lot in my layouts. I also almost always distress and ink the background paper.

Hee hee! How appropriate is that layered My Mind's Eye Sticker? BIG, Adventurous, CUTE, SILLY, playful BOY. That totally fits my hubby's personality and he really is sweet and kind as well. My big teddy bear.

And .....yes this definitely has to be LOVE!   Thanks for stopping by.

My Mind's Eye All is Bright Collection-Family Layout - Nicolle Kramer

Family Layout
Designed By : Nicolle Kramer
Featuring: My Mind's Eye All is Bright

These are the goodies I got to create with this month.

What would the holidays be without family? To me the Christmas Holiday is all about family and coming together. So I created a scrapbook page with one of the family pictures I took at Christmas. My mom, sis, nieces, hubby, sons and daughters. I am in there too. Mike's mother took the photo for me. it turned out to be a nice time.

A few techniques I used on this layout are layering, distressing, die cutting and misting. For inspiration I use a sketch to help me get started on a layout.

Below is a close up of the awesome Petaloo Magnolia and Flower pick. I knew when I saw this in my kit I had to pick a special photo to go along with such a beautiful embellishment.

Below is a close up of the cluster at the bottom of the layout. I used the Chipboard Elements and Buttons from the All is Bright Collection.

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget there is a sale going on at The Hen's Den store to make room for the new products featured at winter CHA.

Joy Layout by Nicolle Kramer Using My Mind's Eye All is Bright Collection

Joy Layout
Featuring: My Mind's Eye All is Bright Collection
MY BLOG

Today is my first post of the year here at The Hen's Den and the start of my second year as part of the Design Team. I was so happy that Charlie asked me back for a second term. Not only are these ladies amazingly creative but really cool to be on a team with. Fun, Fun, Fun and supportive too.

January's Kit is All is Bright by My Mind's Eye. How appropriate coming off of  the Christmas holiday. I don't know about you but I have a ton of photos to scrap.

This is what I received in my kit for the month.

These paper's inspired me to scrap about a Christmas tradition here at the Kramer's house. We love to bake. My boys have grown up so now it's just me and the girl's continuing on with the traditions. Jolie especially loves putting together the gingerbread house kit I buy every year. It seems like every weekend we are baking something from putting together the gingerbread house, to baking cookies and making chocolate candy molds. What can I say we love our sweets.

A few of the techniques I used in this layout are layering, distressing with scissors and distressing with inks as well. I layered the May Arts ribbons in with the papers behind the photos. I also cut the individual rosettes from the May Arts Trim. How cute is that piece of decorative tape in the corner of the gingerbread house photo?
JOY

Below is a close of up a pretty poinsettia that I die cut using my new Tim Holtz die. I love how the chipboard tags elements ties into the whole design of my layout.

I used the Joy chipboard elements for the title. That individual rosette was perfect to make holly with.

I had so much fun working with this collection.
