Together

Prima Marketing Lyric Collection - Together Layout
Prima Marketing Lyric Collection
Designed by Anita L. Mulcahey

Here is a layout that I did from our wonderful trip to Jamaica.  I adore my hubby and we had such a romantic day.  Everyone thought we were celebrating something big and kept asking us.  We were, celebrating our love and the fun that we always have together.  I love how the moon is captured in the background and the way it matches these papers so perfectly.  I don't know how long Charlie is going to be able to keep these in The Hens' Den store so I would definitely get mine while I could.  I love how the word together came out so pretty on these papers using my Silhouette.  Have a great weekend everyone.

Deep Sympathy Featuring Prima Lyric Collection

Prima Marketing Lyric Collection - Deep Sympathy Card
Prima Marketing Lyric Collection
Designed by Anita L. Mulcahey
I made this card the day after the Boston Marathon bombings.  I was deeply saddened by the attack on our city and the tragic loss of life including the sweet little boy Martin who died, together with all the survivors who were injured and whose lives are forever changed.  Prima's Lyric line is so elegant and classy and made the perfect setting for the sympathy card that helped me to express my grief at this horrible event.  I will be back later this month with a layout that I made using this line as well.  I just love it, the wood buttons make me swoon.  I don't know how long this line will be in the store at The Hens' Den so you better get it while you can.  We are resting a bit easier in Boston and able to enjoy the spring weather coming our way. Hugs and love to everyone.

Featuring Prima Marketing's Engraver Collection!

The Stanley Hotel Layout

Designed by Carolyn Lontin

Featuring: Prima Marketing Engraver Collection and new Chic Sketch for The Hens' Den designed by Design Team Member Lori McClellan.

Head on over to The Hens' Den store and drool over Prima's HOT NEW Engraver Collection!

Over fall break last year, we went to the historic Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO and stayed in the infamous room 217!  I'll have to admit that I was pretty creeped out by the thought of staying in this haunted room but even after a history tour and a night ghost tour of the hotel, I slept like a baby!

This layout features some of the details of the hotel and our room 217 and I used The Hens' Den fantastic two-page sketch created by Design Team Member, Lori ... the thing I love about sketches is that they get you started but your pages morph into your own work!

Here is The Hens' Den sketch:

Here is my take on the sketch:

And of course some fun shots of the details:

Supplies:

Black Cardstock
My Mind's Eye Gems

I hope you get a chance to play along this month to create a project using this sketch!  Be sure to stop back by The Hens' Den blog tomorrow to see Design Team Member, Nicolle's project using this sketch!

Thanks for stoppin' by!

Paper lunch bag to gift bag tutorial by Lori McClellan

Paper Lunch Bag to Gift Bag
by Lori McClellan
Featuring Prima products

It's that time of year for gift giving.  This same idea can be used for holidays, baby showers, birthdays, or any gift giving occasion.  Here is an easy tutorial to help you start making your own custom gift bags, quickly!

1. Gather your supplies.  You will need a lunch bag, cardstock, ribbon, adhesive.  Decorative punch or scissors, and a hole punch.
2.  Begin by folding your bag down.  I roll mine twice about 2 inches.

3. Cut a strip of plain cardstock to fit under the rim of the cuff.  Use a decorative punch, scissors or just tear it.  Adhere it under the cuff.

4.  Cut a 5 x 5 piece of your Prima paper.  (Note:  The size you cut your paper will depend on the size of your lunch bag.  Make sure to measure your bag prior to starting your project.)

5.  Line up your two big sides and fold the sides out.  Use a hole punch to punch your holes for your ribbon.
 6.  Make ribbon handles, by tying knots in the ends of your ribbon and putting them through the holds.  Embellish with the amazing accessories from Prima.

Happy holidays, and as always Happy Crafting!

7 Gypsies tray by Carolyn Lontin Featuring: Graphic 45 Kraft Reflections Collection

Designed by Carolyn Lontin
Featuring: Graphic 45 Kraft Reflections Collection

These popular printer trays are so fun to create!  I wanted to keep this one simple so I first chose which patterns or words I wanted to cut out from the patterned papers.  I cut out the desired patterns then distressed the edges using Prima's Rasp Tool and Tim Holtz Distress Ink.

Next I decided which flowers I wanted to put on the tray - the Magnolia Berries & Cream flowers and the Canterbury Vine Spray were my favorite for this project.

Next up were the fun metal embellishments such as Prima's Vintage Trinkets and 7 Gypsies Clear Crystal Knob.

I used the Foam 3D Squares on both the flowers, the vintage trinkets and the cut out patterns where I wanted to add dimension to the tray.

Add any little trinkets or glitter glue to personalize your tray.
