Daisy Card featuring Secret Garden by Graphic 45

This is my last project with this lovely collection from The Hens' Den store and I am sad to see it go.  I might have to see if I can get more.  I was supposed to be scrapping with a dear friend on Cape Cod for our annual trip and had to leave on Friday because I had the stomach bug.  I felt better on Saturday and we got together at my house and I made this card then.  I was so glad to be able to work the post card calendar onto a card.

Treat bag featuring My Mind's Eye Collectable - Unforgettable

My Mind's Eye Collectable - Unforgettable
Treat bag
Created by Janet G. Bagnall
Well after having a weekend of gloomy weather, today is suppose to be a much better day - thank goodness.  On Saturday, I showed you my tag creation for a gift I am giving to someone special this month and am now showing you the bag that gift is going into to.
The lady I made this for loves quilting and I have several friends who have been working on quilting blocks over the past months (waving to Karen, Jill & Linda, I am thoroughly enjoying what you have been showing us) and their inspiration has made me want to start quilting, but in a different way :)
I made a quilted treat bag :)  I weaved a 5x5 square and placed it on top of a 6x6 cardstock square, which in turn was placed on the bag, which had been decorated with strips of paper from the 6x6 paper pad.  I am very excited about giving this to my friend to get her view on what she thinks.
This will be my last time using this wonderful kit from My Mind's Eye Collectable - Unforgettable collection but can see myself picking up more because it was so great working with.  I hope you all will head over to The Hen's Den store and take a look at what products await you in this neat store.

Have a great Monday everyone.

Saturday tag featuring My Mind's Eye Collectable - Unforgettable

My Mind's Eye Collectable - Unforgettable
Saturday tag
Created by Janet G. Bagnall
What a gloomy day it is here in South Carolina, but I'm not going to complain because that means I have to stay in the house creating all day long :)
Today, I am showing a tag I created that will go along with the project coming in another post on Monday (I know the wait will be hard, but Monday will be here before we know it).  I have a wonderful person in my life celebrating a birthday this month and wanted to create her something unique but couldn't stop there.
I had to make a treat bag so the gift could be placed in it and wanted it to be just as unique.  When Charlie asked me this week to post a project today, I knew exactly what to do - add to the treat bag :)  So, this is the tag that I created.  I can't wait to put it all together and show it to you soon.
Again, I used the wonderful collection from My Mind's Eye Collectable - Unforgettable, which is so wonderful.  I took some paper from the collection and did a weave pattern (it was so much easier than I thought it would be) - I really liked how it turned out in the end.  The tag with the butterfly will have her name on it, but couldn't do that quite yet then she would know it was for her.  I just love the country feeling of this line.

I hope everyone will enjoy their weekend and stay safe if you are out and about.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Bo Bunny Isabella Collection-Sister's Layout- Nicolle Kramer

Bo Bunny Isabella Collection
Sister's Layout
Designed By: Nicolle Kramer

Look at this beautiful kit I got to work with this month. The color combo of the papers and of course all those yummy goodies. I enjoyed working with this kit. Who am I kidding I love working with all the kits Charlie sends me.

The stickers in Bo Bunny's Collection are geared toward sister's. So in keeping with that theme I found a picture of me and my little sister from the New Year's. Tara is my only sibling and family is very important to the both of us. We try to spend as much time as we can together. We also want our children to be close with each other now and in the future. Our hopes are that they don't part. Our family is close and we want it to stay close knit.

I used 3 individual flowers layered to make this big flower and attached a brad through the center for embellishment. I fussy cut 2 large grey and 4 smaller pink rose flowers from the patterned paper.  I also layered strips of paper and mixed on pieces of ribbon for dimension.

I even layered and attached with 3D foam squares and embellished the sticker with an arrow to point to the word sister.

You can find all these yummy goodies at The Hen's Den Store.  Don't forget if you look to inspiration from sketches that The Hen's Den Team created projects with the March Chic Sketch Designed by Lori McClellan. If you have time we would love to see what you come up with and share with us on The Hen's Den Facebook Page.

I love this line so much and was able to pick up some extra paper so that I could complete this ten page mini album.  I used my Silhouette and a Lori Whitlock file to complete this book all out of paper.  It looks so lovely and I had so much fun reliving the wonderful trip that we had.  I used Pic Monkey to put the photos of the pages into two collages.  I love how they came out.

If you haven't picked up these papers yet, I don't want you to wait any more, they are flying off the
shelves at The Hens' Den store.

Teresa Collins- Memories- Happiness Nosegay

Teresa Collins - Memories
Nosegay of Happiness
Created by Moriah Macdonald

Happy Monday Everyone! OMG!  I adore this new Memories line from Teresa Collins!!!!!  The colors are so peaceful and they make for such elegantly versatile cards. :)  The best part is that this card probably only took 15 minutes to make- 7 of which were deciding which flowers to use. LOL!

Who doesn't love to get flowers, unless you are allergic! This little nosegay card is perfect for that- no sniffles and you get a flower too. :)  The perfect kinda "just cuz" card.  Don't underestimate the importance of those "just cuz" cards.  We tend to wait for holidays or birthdays to send cards, but the unexpected joy that you get from that piece of art mailed from a friend for no other reason than to say "hey friend".  Its a hug via the mail and it feels sooooo good!

From the pile-o-goodies above, I used these to make the Happiness Nosegay card:

May Arts- Crochet Ribbon- Baby Blue
Teresa Collins- Memories- Die Cut Flowers
Teresa Collins- Memories- Brads
Teresa Collins- Memories- Chipboard & Buttons
Teresa Collins- Memories- 6x6 Pad

So, who is the lucky person you will mail a hug to today?

French Country by Grapic 45 - Altered cabinet

Primitive Cabinet by
Unknown (hehe)

I found this cabinet, while out looking at collectible and antique items, several months back.  It has been hanging around since.  I know when I found it I wanted to make a really cool but functional display case for my store and some of the goodies I carry.  All I needed was just the right paper.  Along came Graphic 45 and their newest release, French Country.  The colors were perfect because the cabinet was painted in a soft green and then distressed with a darker green. I really like the colors and did not want to have to repaint the entire thing.  French Country filled the bill.

Here are some "before" pictures.

Green and not really pretty but there was so much potential.  I just simply loved how it was made.

Here are some "after" pictures.

Ok it is looking better but you need to see some of the close ups.  I spent some time on the metal flowers from Graphic 45.  I used several different embossing powders to color them and fit them in with the paper line.  I also used sprays from the Petaloo line. I fussy cut the Rooster and placed him against the mesh so that he sat back off the front of the door.

Here are some close ups:

The Rooster:

This cluster is on the bottom of the cabinet.  I used soft embossing powders to use with the paper flowers from Graphic 45

In this cluster, I used black and white embossing powders and clustered the flower with flowers from the French Country collection.  This is on the right side of the door.

This cluster is on the top of the cabinet.  Using Red and Sea Foam white and Celery embossing powders, I wanted to pick up colors from the paper flower collection in the French Country line.

This cluster is on the left side of the door.  Using Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade embossing powders this flower went in with the Sunflower cluster from the paper line.

Here are a few more pictures from the sides and other angles.

Left side of the cabinet.

Right side of the cabinet

Full top of the cabinet.

I hope you enjoyed viewing my project and I really hope it inspires you to do something really cool with a piece of furniture that you may have that you really want to change.

Always remember, we have a lot of really cool stuff to buy over at The Hens Den

Have a VERY crafty day
