Ghost Town in the Sky - My Mind's Eye Collectable - Unforgettable collection

Ghost Town in The Sky layout
Created by Janet G. Bagnall
A New Chic Sketch for The Hens' Den designed by Design Team Member: Lori McClellan

Happy 1st Monday of March everyone.  Can you believe I am saying that?  Me neither.  Today is my day to bring you a project using The Hens' Den Chic Sketch, Created by Design Team Member Lori McClellan while using the new My Mind's Eye Collectable - Unforgettable collection.  I was so excited when I opened up my kit and found all these goodies inside - I love everything about it.

Isn't this new Chic sketch from The Hens' Den sketch great, created by Design Team Member Lori McClellan?  I love it and hope you will give it a try (please let us know if you do so we can take a peek).  I'm going to show you my completed layout in two parts so as to not overload you with so much fun - LOL :)  The one I'm showing you today is the title page.

We had taken Jared and Elizabeth to Ghost Town in The Sky years ago and when I went through my kit, came across this unique cardstock (well, it is to me) and an idea came to me.  I took a rectangle piece of brown Graphic 45 "Signature Series" Core'dinations cardstock, tore it down to the size I wanted, crumbled it up, distressed it with sandpaper and some Tim Holtz vintage photo ink and voilĂ , I got a faux leather look :)  I found the parks' name off their website, printed it out and place it on top of that.  What do you think?  I was pleased with the result.

While working on setting up my layout, I had it lined up with the strips going like what is on the new Chic sketch from The Hens' Den sketch great, created by Design Team Member Lori McClellan had  on the sketch, but after looking at it, I just couldn't get it to look right, so took those strips and put them underneath each picture.  I think it turned out pretty good.

This is a great  My Mind's Eye Collectable - Unforgettable collection that has lots of fun goodies to play with and look forward to using this collection often.  I am excited about showing you the rest of my take on this fun sketch soon.

Have a great Monday and hope you will head over to The Hens' Den store to take a look at all the great products Charlie and The Hens' Den has on hand and check out what will be a part of spot light Tuesday on the Facebook page. Be sure to stop by Wednesday on the blog to check out Design Team Member Moriah's take on the new Chic sketch from The Hens' Den sketch for this month.

Graphic 45 The Olde Curiosity Shoppe Puppy Love Layout by Nicolle Kramer

Graphic 45 The Olde Curiosity Shoppe
Puppy Love Layout
Designed By: Nicolle Kramer

A picture of  fabulous goodies I got to work with in this kit I used for all February's Blog posts.

In keeping up with the theme of the month here being Love, I created a layout of my son Bret hugging our beagle Roscoe. We consider our puppies here our babies. This picture was a total perfect photo opportunity. I was sitting at my scrappy desk turned around and saw that loving pose. I am so glad I caught it. The title I came up with perfectly fits the photo.

To create the background I used a flourish mask and Tim Holtz Black Soot distressed ink around it for that swirly effect. To get use out of my border punches I try to use them on all my layouts. The heart punch is perfect for this theme.  For further embellishments I cut different size hearts out of the graphic 45 papers.  I found a sketch online for even more inspiration.

Here's a close up of the love and all the layers. I added a pretty Petaloo velvet cream rose to the center of a handmade crocheted heart.

A close up of the right bottom area of the layout. It's filled with more hearts and chipboard elements. Plus a little fussy cut butterfly.

Don't forget to check out The Hen's Den store for some new products available now from Winter CHA.
