Graduation Time Layout
Featuring: Kaisercraft 75 Cents Collection
Designed by Nicolle Kramer
Happy Monday! I hope everyone enjoyed the 4th and had a relaxing weekend. Mine was a pretty busy weekend. We not only celebrated the 4th we also celebrated two birthday's. My son Ryan's 20th birthday who was born at 4:05 am July 5th and my niece Emily's 7th. We had a busy but fun weekend.
This month I get to play with the beautiful Kaisercraft 75 Cents collection. I love the colors and designs in this paper line.
The month of June was full of many milestones for my children. The prom, moving up and graduation. I created a layout of graduation day of my second oldest son Bret. I took many photos on this day and I know I will probably make a few more layouts with similar photos. I am one proud momma! Bret always struggled in school. His first grade teacher said to me, "Bret is such a sweet kid but school is just not his thing." It doesn't mean he won't succeed in life it just means he struggles academically. This is not something a parent wants to hear. At least for me I wanted all my children to be great at everything they did. I think it was just my own insecurity. I am thankful he had all the resources available to help him and the school helped as much as they could. Bret was diagnosed with ADHD when he was in the 4th grade. He really does have a hard time focusing. Sometimes as a mother one feels like its her own fault but I can honestly say we did put forth the effort needed to help him. We are not all able to be straight A student's. He has other strengths and that is what we focus on.
Some techniques used in this layout are layering. I am sure that's not much of a surprise since it's one of my favorite techniques. ;) I also did lots of tearing for distressed look. It's not often you see me use more then one photo on a layout so I went ahead and out of my comfort zone and used three on this layout. I like a lot of embellishments on my layouts and was also able to achieve that.
In this cluster at the top right of the largest photo I layered stickers, flowers and die cuts from this collection.
Here's another cluster created using stickers, die cuts and flowers.
Thanks for stopping by! You can find this wonderful collection at The Hen's Den Store. Grab it before its gone.
