Bitten Layout and Altered Birdhouse using Graphic 45 Happy Haunting Collection by Nicolle Kramer

Today I  Nicolle Kramer is sharing my Bitten layout with you. I made this using the Happy Haunting Collection by  Graphic 45.
My daughter Jolie was a vampire for Halloween last year. This picture is only one of many that I have of her in this costume. She was fortunate enough to also be a witch and chef. October seems to be full of  a lot birthday parties. Who wants to be seen in the same costume? Jolie loves both the cutesy side of Halloween and the gorey.

Another fun little cluster at the bottom of my layout.

I decided to  altered a little lighthouse birdhouse I purchased at Michael's craft store for $1.00.

A close up of a cute little scene I created at the bottom of the birdhouse.

Details for Preparing Your Page:

I tend to do a lot of fussy cutting when I use graphic 45 papers. Their images are perfect to create a scene with. I like to add a lot of elements to my layouts. My pages typically have a lot of textures, layers and embellishments. Below are the very detailed instructions how I prepared my page.

  • Use 12x12 Jolly Jack o lantern as Background paper.
  • Cut outside border from Fright Night Paper and distress edges. Fussy cut owl as well.
  • Fussy cut 1 moon from man in the moon paper
  • Fussy cut fence/gate from Midnight Magic paper.
  • Fussy cut leaves, flowers, and pumpkins from Jolly Jack-o-lantern paper.
  • Fussy cut a witch from Trick or Treat paper.
  • Fussy cut around Pumpkins Pumpkin Time Paper.
  • Fussy cut around sunflowers on enchanted garden paper.
  • Fussy cut around leaves on B side of Enchanted Garden paper.
  • Fussy cut clock from B side of midnight magic paper.
  • Cut 12" from black bat trim.
  • Cut 1 rosette from olive trim.
  • Cut the photo 4"x4". Cut a black mat 1/4" bigger all around. Double mat with B side of trick or treat paper 1/4" bigger then the black mat.
Assembling your layout:
  • Attach the 12x12 fright night border over the base jolly jack o lantern paper.
  • Attach fussy cut enchanted garden leaf side (b)  to bottom of layout. Tucked a bit under the border at bottom of layout.
  • Attach fussy cut sunflower A side of enchanted garden paper tucked a bit behind the leaf paper.
  • Attach fussy cut gate/fence from midnight magic paperand tuck behind sunflowers.
  • Attach fussy cut pumpkin from pumpkin time paper behind gate with pumpkins peeking above the fence a bit.
  • Attach double matted photo to top left of layout and add green alpha letter to bottom right of photo. Add fussy cut and cardstock stickers to bottom left of photo.Attach fussy cut witch to top right of photo. Please refer to photos above for better understanding.
  • Attach fussy cut moon and owl to top right of layout.
  • Attach flowers, chipboard and fussy cut elements to bottom left of layout.
  • Attach fussy cut elements, petaloo flower, olive rosette to right side of gate or almost bottom right of layout.
  • Attach black bats to top of layout along the bottom part of the border. Attach fussy cut clock to center top of layout.
Altered lighthouse birdhouse:

I used fright night paper, jeepers creepers, word play, midnight magic and pumpkin time papers.
  • Cut papers to fit birdhouse.
  • Fussy cut little girl from trick or treat paper.
  • Fussy cut gate from midnight magic paper.
  • Fussy cut pumpkins from Pumpkin time paper.
  • Fussy cut spider from jeepers creepers paper.
