A Childs Joy layout
Featuring Prima Lyric Collection
by Lori McClellan
When my box of the beautiful Prima papers and embellishments arrived this month, I was so excited to work with this gorgeous collection. I am not joking when I say that the images on the computer don't do justice to this amazing line. When I pulled out my box and got ready to create, I jumped right in and didn't get a picture of my supplies, (that's how excited I was to get creating).
My oldest daughter, Jessie, recently went to prom. My sweet Father-in-law, Alan Lohrke, an amazing photographer, was up to capture this special moment for us. He got some beautiful posed shots of the couple, but my favorites were the candid shots of Jessie he got. This one is my favorite. As a parent of a teenager, it is a rare moment indeed when you see snippets of pure joy, to capture them in even rarer. This picture makes my heart sing. For all the heartache that comes with parenting, being able to see your child experience pure joy is definitely priceless.
For this layout, I used a single sheet of cardstock Prima Lyric - recital. It was like this page was made to showcase this singe picture. I backed the photo with plain cardstock.
The embellishment that come with this line are equally gorgeous. My favorite are the frames. I used the smile definition that comes with the frames, glues the frame over it and cut it out. I filled in the inside of the frame with some glossy accents crackle I had on hand. I love the vintagey look it gives it and how it ties right in with the page.
The brads, stickers and chipboard embellishments in this collection are adorable.
This is a 2 page layout. I will show the second page in another blog post this month.
I hope you are inspired to create! You can find the Prima Lyric line and more at The Hens' Den
